The Goal
The Gascoyne Gateway Marine Complex was conceived to support regional industry, defence, tourism and maritime activity through a new coastal marine facility, while setting a benchmark for environmental responsibility. The ambition is to deliver a marine complex that balances economic opportunity with protection of cultural values, coastal ecosystems and long-term community benefit.
A refined approach to strategic infrastructure planning that prioritises environmental stewardship and regional opportunity.
Our Role
Working alongside Gascoyne Gateway Limited and specialist advisors, TBB Planning has supported the establishment of the planning and land tenure foundations required for the project to progress through environmental and statutory pathways.
This has included working with State agencies, the Mid West Ports Authority and the Client’s team to progress land access arrangements, support environmental assessment processes and prepare planning frameworks for future development. Collaboration has been central to refining the project’s footprint and ensuring planning decisions respond to environmental, cultural and governance considerations.
The Outcome
Gascoyne Gateway Marine Complex is progressing through an environmental assessment. The project’s commitment to environmental protection will strike a balance to deliver a key infrastructure project. For the Exmouth community and region, it demonstrates how large-scale industrial projects can evolve through collaboration to deliver better environmental and community outcomes while supporting long-term economic diversification.
