The Goal
The project aimed to deliver a high-quality, internationally branded hotel within the Perth Airport Estate, supporting Western Australia’s tourism industry and improving the experience for travellers, airlines and businesses. A key focus was ensuring the development could integrate seamlessly with airport operations while contributing positively to the Central Precinct’s long-term growth.

Our Role
Working alongside Perth Airport and a multidisciplinary consultant team, TBB Planning supported the planning and approvals pathway for the Pullman Perth Airport Hotel. Our role focused on coordinating inputs, guiding engagement and supporting a clear, well-managed approvals process.
The approach balanced commercial objectives with complex regulatory and operational requirements unique to an airport environment. Collaboration with Federal, State and local stakeholders helped align expectations, address safety and operational considerations early, and maintain momentum through a multi-layered approvals pathway.
The Outcome
In July 2025, the Pullman Perth Airport Hotel secured Commonwealth Ministerial approval with no changes or burdensome conditions, providing certainty for delivery of Perth’s first on-airport hotel. The approved development includes approximately 437 rooms, conference and event facilities, food and beverage offerings, wellness amenities and supporting commercial uses.
The approval strengthens the role of the Airport Central Precinct as a destination in its own right, supporting tourism, business travel and major events. For Perth Airport, the outcome provides a clear pathway to deliver a flagship development that enhances the airport estate. For Western Australia, it represents an important piece of infrastructure supporting long-term economic and tourism growth.
