She is an active member of the Planning Institute of Australia, supporting early-career planners through mentoring, events and industry forums. She has served on the PIA WA Young Planners Committee, contributed to the UDIA WA Outlook committee, and is now an active member of the UDIA WA Community and Consumer Conversations committee, reflecting her commitment to building a more connected, supportive planning community.

In 2024, Farida was recognised as PIA WA Young Planner of the Year, acknowledging her leadership, generosity with her time and positive impact on both the profession and the people within it.
