Mel is energised by the variety and scale of projects she gets to work on. She loves that each week brings something new, from renewable energy facilities and mixed-use developments to coastal precincts and major residential communities. Her passion for planning comes from helping clients move through the approvals process with clarity, confidence and well-reasoned advice.
She joined TBB Planning in 2024, bringing a strong background in statutory planning and development applications.
Mel has a particular interest in renewable energy and has worked on projects for Synergy, Horizon Power, BP Renewable Energy, Ampol and others. Her experience across large-scale battery infrastructure, EV charging networks, and regional and industrial land investigations has given her a deep understanding of the unique planning challenges and opportunities in this sector.
She has extensive experience across a wide range of development applications, ensuring proposals respond thoughtfully to planning instruments while achieving client needs and aspirations. She also provides clients with clear guidance through the assessment and approvals process, and develops practical strategies for timely and well-resolved outcomes.
Mel applies her skills, energy and attention to detail across all her work. She is valued for her ability to coordinate consultants, interpret planning frameworks and prepare clear, practical documentation that supports timely approvals.
Some of her proudest projects include the Synergy Kwinana Battery Energy Storage System 2, the Synergy EV Charging Network Rollout, the St John of God Murdoch Mental Health Facility, Ocean Reef Marina, Atlantis Beach and Capricorn Beach residential estates, and Christchurch Grammar School performing arts centre ‘Perform’.
