About Paul

Paul is driven by the opportunity to work with others to make towns and cities even better places to live, work and invest. He especially enjoys seeing that work translate into real outcomes for communities and industry.

With more than 25 years’ experience across Perth, regional Western Australia, the UK and Queensland, Paul brings a calm, practical approach to complex planning challenges. He has led multi-disciplinary teams and major planning programs in fast-paced, high-profile environments, building strong relationships across industry, government and community to find common ground and move projects forward.

Paul’s experience spans master planning, urban transformation, residential land development, and industrial and commercial projects. He also provides strategic policy and planning advice, supporting clients to build clarity and momentum from early conversations through to delivery. His background includes executive leadership roles in local government, most recently as Chief Planning and Development Officer at Townsville City Council.

He also brings specialist experience in coastal and climate adaptation, waterways and water quality planning, and community and recreation planning. Paul holds qualifications in urban and regional studies, policy and city planning, and is a Member of the Planning Institute of Australia.

Outside of work, Paul is happiest spending time with friends and family outdoors and on the water, whether hiking or out on an outrigger canoe.
